Kiddimoto is the UK’s original balance bike company. We produce a wide range of award-winning balance bikes and matching accessories from our headquarters in rural Somerset. We’ve grown from a tiny one-man-show to a successful global operation with a host of awards. Read our story below…
The First Kiddimoto Balance Bike Was Born
Kiddimoto was born after founder Simon Booth built a wooden prototype of a superbike inspired balance bike in his flat in Axbridge, Somerset.
First Bikes Off the Production Line
Production began in earnest at a workshop in Cheddar, where the Superbike and Scrambler became the first bikes off the Kiddimoto production line.
Kiddimoto Officially One of a Kind
The first of a string of accolades came with the prestigious Hamleys One of a Kind toy of the year award.
On the Move
Having outgrown its previous premises, Kiddimoto moved to a brand-new location in the tiny village of Westbury-Sub-Mendip in the Somerset countryside near Wells.
Enter the Dragon
Simon made an appearance on the BBC’s popular Dragon’s Den programme. After a gruelling interrogation, he left with investment offers from two Dragons!
With business booming, the Westbury warehouse was expanded in order to keep up with demand from the UK and abroad.
Royal Seal of Approval
Kiddimoto won its most prestigious accolade yet, with the Queen’s Award for International Trade.
On the Move (Again!)
Another expansion was needed, and we moved into our current premises in Cheddar Business Park to hold more staff and more stock!
Our most exciting project to date! We design and produce Karbon – our first ever Carbon Fibre balance bike.
The next generation of Kiddimoto helmets are born! We introduced our IKON range, starting with our high tech full face helmets.

Don't Take Our Word For it! Here's What Our Customers Think:
Brilliant!!! My boy loves wearing it and it has saved his face a few times now! Very sturdy, my son is 2 and the adjustments fit perfectly. He cant take it off himself wich is great and he looks too cool in it. Worth the money
Great helmet. Suitable for my ten-year-old son. The quality is very good and the lining is comfortable and breathable. My son likes it very much.
Pretty impressed with this helmet. My kid is starting to jump his bike a little and go on more trails with me so i like the added sense of safety the full face provides. It is highly adjustable and lightweight. Full face part removes easily but locks in place too.
